Jaguar Bingham is every bit as memorable as her name. Hailing from Alderney in the Channel Islands, but based in East London, the 29-year-old broadcaster, DJ and journalist, is among the new guard of multi-hyphenate talents steering UK dance music towards brighter waters. She’s a next-gen tastemaker instigating change through projects such as UTOPIA and The Jaguar Foundation.
Jaguar’s work to date, spans from her Introducing show on Radio 1 Dance to running her own club night, music label and community, UTOPIA. She has also played on lineups such as, Movement Festival in Detroit, Lightening in a Bottle in CA, a residency at Pikes Ibiza, as well as shows at DC10, Amnesia, Glastonbury, Circoloco and Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
In 2021, Mixmag named her Broadcaster of the Year and later she was awarded Best Radio Show for BBC Introducing Dance at DJ Mag Best of British Awards. The magazine had previously dubbed her “UK radio’s next gen champion”.
Last year saw Jaguar release music for the first time. Kicking off with her debut record, WILD! Which got huge support across radio, club plays and saw Jaguar featured in Mixmag, Beatport and coverstar for Ibiza Club News. And the music continued with a follow up second release WHITE PONY which went straight into the top ten tracks for New Music Friday on Spotify and supported by DJ Mag with a ‘How I Made It’ piece to follow. Jaguar is continuing to release new music with her first track of 2026, Gimme Dat out on her label, with plenty more music to come.
Jaguar has been the co-host of Ibiza’s International Music Summit alongside summit co-founder Pete Tong MBE, for the past 5 years. And hosted the DJ Awards back in 2024
Jaguar launched UTOPIA as a club night with a sold-out celebration at London’s Night Tales. Jaguar was inspired by some of the queer parties and venues she’d encountered previously as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Her affinity for electronic music and genres such as house, techno and disco, along with jungle, drum’n’bass and stacks more floor-filling styles, merged with an interest in student radio while in Leeds. Since, she has collaborated with underground music platform Keep Hush as well as Foundation FM and Soho House to host UTOPIA events. And this year is taking over East London’s Queer hotspot, Dalston Superstore for a 3 night residency.
Elsewhere, she’s launched a project; The Jaguar Foundation, a partnership with Ministry of Sound and Sony Music UK Social Justice Fund. The Jaguar Foundation released its first report on the state of gender equality in UK dance music, tackling issues such as gender imbalance, representation and accessibility within the industry at a foundational level, the initiative provided curious minds with artist-led sessions with the likes of Jyoty, Jayda G and Bklava. Last year Jaguar partnered with Defected Records, ELEVATE diversity initiative to host a celebratory event to shine a light on some of the great things female and diverse lead communities are doing for the music industry, with insight from the likes of I.Jordan, Taalia from Queer House Party and Jaguar, followed by a night of DJ sets from UTOPIA artists and performers. And topped off the year by being awarded a Honorary Masters by The University of Coventry in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the promotion and support of women in dance music.
